Color dipped Ikea kid's table

I have been searching for almost a year for the perfect kids' table for Amara. She is so little, that even the smallest chairs have been to tall for her. Not to mention the way that she climbs up onto the chairs meant that I needed something that wouldn't tip over easily. Table and chair sets are expensive ya'll!!!

As long as it has taken my undecisive self to make a decision, it appears that Amara has grown. This is great news to me because I really liked all of the hacks that I have seen done to the Latke Ikea table, but I just never felt like it was a sturdy enough combo for my little. Until now! $20 for a table and 2 chairs!?!?! Boom....DONE! We were able to get it shipped to us for $11 bringing the final cost to around $32.

I took some leftover aqua paint that I had from her play kitchen, and spiced up the legs on the table just a bit. I just used some painter's tape to mark off where I wanted to paint. I really love how it turned out!

I am SLOOOOOOOOOWLY trying to put together an office upstairs in Amara's original nursery room. I really just working with what I already have. No new storage ( for right now) and no painting the walls (hence the bright pink chevron). I wanted to create a little nook in the office for Amara to entertain herself while I do whatever it is you do in an office/craft room. Its just a bright open space upstairs, and I find that we do NOT live upstairs. We spend all of our time downstairs, and I am trying to change that.....one. room. at. a. time.

Here is Amara's little nook as it stands today. When the budget allows, I plan on adding some book shelving below the artwork to hold art supplies and such.

^^ I took an old Anthropologie catalog that I had saved and hung pictures from it with gold washi tape! I saved the catalog for the pig picture specifically, but ended up hanging others also. Just kind of quirky and fun!^^

^^ The tassel garland was something I had already made from a baby shower I threw earlier in the year. It pays off to save those things, huh? ^^

I kind of love this little space for now. I think it is nice to have a little something your child can do in each room of the house until they can be left somewhat unsupervised. If I have to go to a different room in my house, I hate feeling like I have to take toys with me. They will just be there already! :)

Have a GREAT weekend!!

Pinspiration! What I am pinning these days.....

I have been loving Pinterest a lot more than usual lately. It kind of makes me feel like I am shopping, but money isn't necessarily coming out of my wallet at that moment. We are currently in the very slow process of redoing our master bedroom ( new carpet and all), so every decision is "life or death" here, right?! ;)

Sometimes, it is just nice to get out of my head and just look for looking's sake. Then, sometimes.... constantly finding new ideas makes me want to change things CONSTANTLY! I like change...what can I say?

Here are some random pins that I have enjoyed looking at. They can also be found on my Pinterest boards HERE!

^^ Been lusting after a mint tassel key fob for a while now. ^^

^^ If I had these, they would have to sit out on my counter somewhere. Too perfect! ^^

^^ Really wanting to dip dye one of my white T-shirts. ^^

^^ I mean....this is just purty! ^^

^^ I neeeeeed this! Perfect one piece for toting my little one to the pool! ^^

^^ I have been wrestling with what color palette to go with for our bedroom. When I saw this, I knew I landed on what I wanted! ^^

^^ Just waiting for this little number to go on sale :) ^^

^^ Dying over this front door color! ^^

Mother's Day Brunch

I know we are all kind of over Mother's Day posts, but I took a break from the internet for Mother's Day and the following day kind of.....so here are my pics from a low key Mother's Day Brunch that I put together for our sweet mothers. We are so blessed around the Patillo house!! Our mom's are both 5 minutes away right now, and we do NOT take it for granted (purposely). They are so helpful and so just always there when we need them. It almost seems unreal how often we get to get out by ourselves sans baby. Thank you so much!!!!

I got to sleep in a little to kick off my special day! I was given the cutest Mother's Day card by the cutest little girl ever!! ( because our own kids are the cutest in the world, right?) ;). Gabe had treated me to a mani/pedi on Friday so I was all set for the weekend. It was pretty perfect! Amara got me an Itunes gift card to go with my new Ipad mini. It is perfection......I am so excited to get it set up and fight over it with a toddler :) She calls it a "padpad". so cute!!

Little things....

I ordered myself a little "jewelry display box" from West Elm about 2 months ago, and it was backordered. I kind of forgot about it until it showed up on my doorstep yesterday. How quickly your house gets taken over by all things baby, so for some reason, I was like a little girl putting my jewelry in a box that has my name on it. I have my own little space for some of my precious pieces. It was just a little thing that kind of made my day today!

Autumn

I used to be a Summer lover, yes, even in humid TN, but I think Fall has stolen my heart! Sorry Summer....it was fun while it lasted. Not only do I love the not sweating while hauling around an antsy 1 year old part, but this time last year, we were adjusting to life with a newborn. Gabe was home the most he has ever been during our marriage, and I was falling madly in love for the second time in my life! This season just holds such a special place in my heart now, and it is full of so many fun festivities! Getting your first hot pumpkin spice latte from "Starbizzles" as my husband likes to say, going to pick out pumpkins, baking pumpkin bread for the, making turkey chili and throwing on a scarf with leggings and my brown boots! I look forward to it all! It is so much fun this year because Amara is starting to understand more and find fun in things! We are so blessed beyond comprehension, and although we are missing daddy a lot this season due to his traveling ways, we are making the most of our time together as a family! Hope everyone is enjoying this time of year and appreciating where God has you at the moment! I know I am doing my best!!
