Boy or Girl?

 I was telling my husband the other day how I want to be a better blogger. He assured me that I did NOT want to be a true blogger because I hardly pay attention to this blog. Well, I wanted this to be a joint effort. It is GABE AND jenni?!?! Oh well... I am going to try harder to make this more of a priority.

 Anyhow, I recently left my part-time job to finish out my pregnancy in style. My sweet husband has supported my decision to stay home and tend to "baby things." I have recently cleaned our bathroom for the first time in months, done 8 loads of laundry, will be attempting my Yoga video later and I haven't even scratched the surface of all the things I want to do with this new life of mine. 


 The first priority for me was hosting a gender reveal party at our home. We had all of our close friends and family over for a BBQ, and we took part in a riveting cutting of the cake. We had an amazing cake made to  reveal the gender Baby Patillo to everyone. Gabe and I had no clue what it was, we found out along with everyone else. It was our most exciting party yet!! Not that I didn't already know, but I was even more convinced that we have the BEST friends and family in the world.

I am alive.....i think

Ok, so I am back to feeling like normal again today. The last two days have been pure hell for me unfortunately. I know that sounds really dramatic, but i think my husband being out of town made it harder :(. My sister took good care of me and sat in the bed with me all night long. The real life saver were my new sea bands. I am styling and profiling now. I feel like I am walking around in an 80's workout video and Olivia Newton John's "Let's get Physical" keeps playing in my head.

50 degrees and dreaming!

It was gorgeous outside today! It completely changed my mood and helped me get out of my "prego funk!" It got me excited about Summer 2011. I came across this photo and it got me thinking of the many conversations Gabe and I have had about how much fun it will be to rent big beach homes with our friends and family and their children and have them "grow up" together! So fun to dream.....sigh.....

Boy.......ooooor girl?

Lately, I have been spending the evenings in bed browsing the internet for anything and everything baby. I don't know what I am having yet obviously, but I really love to look at nurseries. Plus, it helps take my mind off of how nauseous I feel. My friend Leah e-mailed me this new blog, and I am IN LOVE with this little baby girl's nursery. I wish I was this creative and now I kind of find myself wishing for a girl :)

December....goodbye....January....HELLO BABY

   I have been slacking this month. I said I would blog at least two ( MAYBE 3) times a week. Yeeeaaaah.....this is the girl that avoids her phone at all costs, enjoys her alone time, and procrastinates. Hmmm.... Well, December came and went for the Patillos. We had an AMAZING holiday! It was SO amazing that I can hardly remember what happened! :) 




   On to January! The biggest, most fab news to date is that Gabe and I recently found out that we have a little one on the way! I am about 6 weeks along. I speak for both of us when I say....HOLY CRAP!!! We can't really believe that we are pregnant despite what the 8 pregnancy tests have said. We go to the doctor on Feb. 15th. It is so far off due to Gabe's touring schedule! He will be on the road when I start puking my brains out, but Sadie is here to hold my hair. 


   There are so many mixed emotions that come with this news. We are so excited and we enjoyed telling all of our close friends and family, but now we are back to reality and in saving mode AGAIN, and we just want to be able to be good providers and amazing parents. It is fun to spend our lunches watching kids interact with their parents  at restaurants as Gabe and I tell each other what we will and won't tolerate when we have kids. I won't say what those things are because I know that when I look into its eyes, it will make my heart melt and all of that will go out the window for a while!  Anyway....we got our first "baby item" from our dear friends Heath and Lori today! It felt good to take it and put it in a special place to rest for the next 9 months! Sadie thought the "toy" was her's of course! We are praying daily that God will let this little bean keep growing, and we truly couldn't be more grateful!!

Turkey Time!!!

Thanksgiving 2010...Gabe and I have so much to be thankful for! The best thing about a holiday in the Patillo household is that Gabe and I finally get a chance to slow down and breathe in. Our friends Chico and Lisa came with their 3 kiddos, and then our mom's and siblings, and a new friend ( kim)! Then, we got to go to my dad's and have our second Thanksgiving...YUM! My heart could not have possibly been more full! Amazing food, quality time, movie night, and Black Friday shopping. We are lucky, and as I am cuddled up in my bed right now, I am smiling because I know how blessed I really am!

Now that I have written my sentimental piece, one of MY favorite things about Thanksgiving is setting my table for my guests! My mom bought us some beautiful napkins , mother -in-law brought over her lovely chargers, and with a little help from Martha Stewart, we were able to create a "Tuscan" feel! It was perfect and I was a proud hostess!!  Just a few pics...
