Color dipped Ikea kid's table

I have been searching for almost a year for the perfect kids' table for Amara. She is so little, that even the smallest chairs have been to tall for her. Not to mention the way that she climbs up onto the chairs meant that I needed something that wouldn't tip over easily. Table and chair sets are expensive ya'll!!!

As long as it has taken my undecisive self to make a decision, it appears that Amara has grown. This is great news to me because I really liked all of the hacks that I have seen done to the Latke Ikea table, but I just never felt like it was a sturdy enough combo for my little. Until now! $20 for a table and 2 chairs!?!?! Boom....DONE! We were able to get it shipped to us for $11 bringing the final cost to around $32.

I took some leftover aqua paint that I had from her play kitchen, and spiced up the legs on the table just a bit. I just used some painter's tape to mark off where I wanted to paint. I really love how it turned out!

I am SLOOOOOOOOOWLY trying to put together an office upstairs in Amara's original nursery room. I really just working with what I already have. No new storage ( for right now) and no painting the walls (hence the bright pink chevron). I wanted to create a little nook in the office for Amara to entertain herself while I do whatever it is you do in an office/craft room. Its just a bright open space upstairs, and I find that we do NOT live upstairs. We spend all of our time downstairs, and I am trying to change that.....one. room. at. a. time.

Here is Amara's little nook as it stands today. When the budget allows, I plan on adding some book shelving below the artwork to hold art supplies and such.

^^ I took an old Anthropologie catalog that I had saved and hung pictures from it with gold washi tape! I saved the catalog for the pig picture specifically, but ended up hanging others also. Just kind of quirky and fun!^^

^^ The tassel garland was something I had already made from a baby shower I threw earlier in the year. It pays off to save those things, huh? ^^

I kind of love this little space for now. I think it is nice to have a little something your child can do in each room of the house until they can be left somewhat unsupervised. If I have to go to a different room in my house, I hate feeling like I have to take toys with me. They will just be there already! :)

Have a GREAT weekend!!

Office Space

I have been spending a lot of time organizing my house. I don't like having random things all over the place, especially with Amara now and all that she comes with. I can't keep having my projects scattered all around my house. Everything needs a "department" It makes for less daily clean- up and less "where did I put my....?"

With that said, I am dreaming up an office space/craft room. When I look at it as a whole, I get overwhelmed. I am definitely the girl that just wants things done without doing the work. Yeah, I said it!!!
I want a sewing station, storage area, desk area, play area for amara......but I can't do it all at once. I quickly get overwhelmed when I am out shopping. I will go out for one thing, but find an item that is for another project or space in my house that is not even ready for that item yet! Have I lost you??

Basically, I want to start with a desk wall! I want a cute desk with some shelving around it and a bulletin board to put all of my magazine clippings, paint swatches, notes, etc.

Print by: Sugar Paper
I purchased this print a couple of years ago, and I always said that it would go in my office one day when I had one. Well, I still have that print, and it is my inspirational piece for my personal space. I want something classy, simple, stylish, comfortable, and girly!

P.S here are some other Sugar Paper prints I would give my right arm for right now ;)...They would brighten up ANY space in a home!

I found some other office spaces that I have been drawn to lately. I think it is safe to say that I want the main color theme to be WHITE. My absolute favorite color!! :) It just feels clean and fresh to me! I am so excited to get started and see how cost efficient I can be! It will be the room with no design rules! I will keep you updated!

Goodwill, spray paint, clearance end caps at Target......here I come!

Here goes....

I am not sure WHY I am showing this, BUT I feel like I need some accountability. I recently posted on FB that i need a craft room. Truth be told, I HAVE a craft room....it just looks like one of these winter storms blew through and ransacked it. It is the room in my house that always stays shut off. It has been organized a couple of times ( the best that you you can organize something without shelves or anything), but it ALWAYS manages to get back to looking like it needs disaster relief. I don't file papers right away, I just put them in that room and tell myself I will find them again when I organize it. YEAH RIGHT! I have gift wrapping accessories, things from me and Gabe's childhood, my esthetician table, candle supplies......the list goes on. There is actually probably a little family living in there somewhere. Just kidding. Despite my clutter, I can say it is still a CLEAN room.

I think you are more creative in an inspiring environment. I never stay in that room to do projects ( not that there is an open space even if I wanted to). I always end up dragging stuff out into other parts of my house. Then, I just go back upstairs and chuck the stuff on the ground. If anyone knows me, I am somewhat of a neat freak, so this is an out of character room for me. I guess I need a slop room to help hide my imperfections!

So I give myself ONE MONTH to make a drastic change in this room and turn it into a creative space. It is going to be my girly room! When you look at this picture below, it is okay to judge! I am prepared.

What is the purpose of a closet??? To keep stuff IN?
New concept for me you would think!
